He was predeceased by: his parents, William Perry Barnes, II and Elva Teague Barnes; his wife Mary Ruth Smith Barnes; his daughters, Marie Barnes Hill and Natalie "Tinker" Barnes Wood; and his brothers, William Perry Barnes, III and Sammy Kay Barnes.
He is survived by: his children, Vickie Keith (Paul), Susan "Skip" Roberts and Fred "Pee Wee" Barnes, Jr.; his grandchildren, Pamela Mabry (Jason), Jessica Slate, David Roberts, Stacy Barnes and Nikki Keaton; his great grandchildren, Kristian Reynolds, Dylan Mabry and Aiden Slate; and his sisters, Patsy Litchfield (John), Sandra Goodermuth (Gary) and Scooter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice.
