He was predeceased by: his father Rex Robert Austin; and also Lois Jane McKinney Austin. He is survived by: his significant other Marie Austin of Stokesdale; his sons, Robert Austin (Beth) of England, Daniel Austin (Judi) of England, Lawrence Webster Smith of Stokesdale and Clint "Junior" Smith of Stokesdale; his grandchildren, Eli and Ezra of England; his siblings, Robert Austin of Kernersville, Jane Austin (Michael) of Raleigh, Carole Ann Sawkins of England and Richard Austin of England; and his niece Saydie O'Donnell (Jed) of England. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
