He was predeceased by: his father Leland D. Carney, Jr.; and his nephew Jeffrey Mitchell, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Tammy O. Carney; his mother Sandra Boring Davis; his stepfather Tom Davis; his children, Chase, Blake, Brian, Danny Carney (Kim), Tamara Duque (Ivan), Kamaron Rankin (Phillip) and Miakoda Miller (A. J.); his grandchildren, Kaleigha, Braxton, Sutton, Tehya, Illan and Ikaia; and his siblings, Donald Carney (Linda), Jefferey Carney (Lisa), Doyle Carney (Trisha), Carolyn Spangler (Larry), Sandra Mitchell (Jeff), Vickie Coachman (Mark) and Peggy Miller (Mark). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home (127 Ellisboro Rd, Madison, NC 27025). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 27th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
