With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Viola Turner Ellis of Macon, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 15, 2025. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She is survived by: her children, Walter Turner (Ernestine) of Macon, Barbara Alston (Jasper) of Macon, Bernard Ellis (Jill) of Macon, Glenda Hawkins (Donnell) of Warrenton, Sylvia Campbell (George) of Macon and Peter Ellis (Quentella) of Kerville, Texas; her sister Louise T. Miniggia of Littleton; her uncle Alvin Boyd of Manson; her siblings-in-law, Mary Turner of Macon, Mildred E. Washington of Macon and Nathaniel Ellis of Macon; and her close friends, Elizabeth Brown, Mary Gie Kearney, Jerome Brown, Sharon Dunston and Laura Davis. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the R. H. Greene Funeral Service (109 Front St, Warrenton, NC 27589). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (648 Harristown Rd, Macon, NC 27551). A burial was held on Wednesday, January 22nd 2025 at the Ellis Family Cemetery.
