He is survived by: his son Craig Mercer (Heather) of Kenly; his grandchildren, Madison Faith Mercer and Palyn Isabella Mercer; his sisters, Dorothy Faye Roberson of Elm City and Shirley Ann Wainwright (Ricky) of Saratoga; his nieces, Brenda Bryant (Mickey) of Middlesex, Linda Stallings (Greg) of Wilson and Bobbie Jo Roberson (Ronnie) of Elm City; his nephew Ricky Lee Wainwright (Sue Ann) of Black Creek; and his close friend Patty Webb Shelton. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
