He is survived by: his parents, Earl Clarence Bassett, III and Rebecca Brigman Bassett of Edenton; his wife Lynn Cale Bassett; his children, Julianna Lanair Bassett and Jonathan Cale Bassett of Edenton; his siblings, Cathy Smith of Edenton and Tad Bassett (Martha) of Raleigh; and also David Brooks.
