He was predeceased by: his father Lathan Avery, Sr.. He is survived by: his mother Gladys Jones Avery; his children, Zelma Avery (Brandon) of Maxton and Terry Avery, Jr. (Mary Lynn) of Maxton; and his siblings, Jimmy Avery of Fairmont, Jackie Avery of Midland, Bobby Avery of Concord, Lathan Avery, Jr. of Dillon, SC and David Avery of Lumberton. He is also survived by eight grandchildren.
