He is survived by: his son Dr. Samuel Emerson Britt II (Dianne) of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Britt Foley, Susan Britt Rieser and Samuel Emerson Britt III; his daughter Nancy Jane Britt Wagner (Mark Yorty Wagner) of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Ashley Campbell, Meghan Inman and Lauren Galvan; and his great grandchild Daniel Gentry Britt of Atlanta.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Lumberton in Samuel's honor.
