She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Lyon and Virginia Lyon; her daughter Wren Virginia Rice; her siblings, Bette Berrett, Ann Kirby and Dennis Lyon; her grandsons, David Joel Rice (DJ) and Jon Kurtis Dodson; and her great grandchild Olivia Mauney.
She is survived by: her husband John Blount; her daughters, Heather Blount (Joe), Amber Estela and Denise Dodson (Rob); her son-in-law David Rice; and her grandchildren, Kathirya, Robin, Meagan, Morgan, LeAndra, Robbie, Daphne, Nathan, Vance and Raymond. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Revels Funeral Home (3575 N Roberts Ave, Lumberton, NC 28360). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 6th 2025 at the Great Marsh Baptist Church Cemetery (270 E Great Marsh Church Rd, St Pauls, NC 28384).
