He is survived by: his former wife Mary Lynn Walters of Lumberton; his children, Debra Walters of Chapel Hill, NC and Rendal Scott Walters (Kimberly Mendez) of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Clayton Walters of Fort Worth, TX, Spencer Walters of Indianapolis and Amberly Walters of Indianapolis; his stepchildren, Johnny Taylor (Deanna) of Lumberton and Margaret Sanderson (Jimmy) of Charlotte; his stepgrandson Trey Sanderson of Charlotte; and his sister Iris Walters Bland of Pinehurst. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Boles-Biggs Funeral Home (801 N Chestnut St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A graveside service was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Meadowbrook Cemetery (2500 N Walnut St, Lumberton, NC 28360).
In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to be sent to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
