She was predeceased by: her parents, Claudius Oxendine and Ella Mae Sampson Oxendine; her husband Prather C. Freeman; her children, James C. Freeman, Ann Marie Freeman, Genevieve Freeman and Lena Mae Baldwin; her grandsons, Jonathan Hunt, Curtis Ray Freeman, Jr. and James C. Freeman, Jr.; and her siblings, Henry W. Oxendine, Lacy Locklear, Barney Oxendine, Willie W. Oxendine, Julius Oxendine, Annie Hazel Oxendine, Eunice Locklear and Mildred Sampson.

She is survived by: her children, Curtis Ray Freeman of Fairmont, NC, Gertrude Hunt of Lumberton, NC, Clementine Hunt (Mickey) of Lumberton, NC, Ella Mae Hunt (Phillip) of Fairmont, NC and Darlene Freeman Rodriguez of Apex, NC; her nephew Mike Oxendine; and her nieces, Alice Hunt and Cynthia Martin. She is also survived by twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
