As we bid adieu to Effie's earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in her wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Effie has bequeathed us. For though she may have departed from our sight, her spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
She was predeceased by: her son Desmond Woodrow Singletary. She is survived by: her daughter Ethel C. Drew Marietta (Stancil); and her stepchildren, Margie Phillips of Rocky Mount, NC, Joyce Fobbes of Maryland, Louis Jean Johnson of New York, Mary Hill of Maryland, Willie Jean Haywood of New York, George Wiggins (Wendy) of Florida, Clifton Haywood Jr. (Ruth) of Chadbourn, Norvet Haywood of California and Ricky Haywood of Maryland. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 26 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives.
