He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Mayes and Lillie Mae Mayes; his son Kevin Patrick Mayes; and his brother Walter Eugene Mayes. He is survived by: his wife Mary Agnes Lowery; his children, Quentin Mayes (Cyndi) and Constance McLean (Wayne) of Lumberton; his brothers, Larry Mayes (Betty) of Lumberton and Jackie Mayes (Chanell) of Lumberton; his grandchildren, Brittany McLean (Rex) and Nick Mayes (Ashlyn) of Lumberton; his great grandchildren, Kinleigh Meares and Waylon Mayes; and his nephews, Chris Mayes (Susan) of Lumberton and Zack Mayes of Lumberton.
