It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Walters of Lumberton, North Carolina, who passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clyde Kerns and Bessie Kerns; her son Michael Bryant; and her siblings, Leroy Kerns, Bobby Ray Kerns, Dora Mae Kerns Sampson, Merlene Kerns Sampson, Ellen Kerns Sampson, Lorine Kerns Peagler and Naomi Kerns Dimery.
She is survived by: her daughters, Alesia Hunt (Lionel) of Fairmont and Veronica Bryant of Deerfield Beach; and her siblings, William Gordon "Bud" Kerns, Samuel Kerns, Velma Kerns Spaulding and Linda Ruth Kerns Brown. She is also survived by five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, January 9th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lumbee Memorial Gardens (774 Moss Neck Rd, Lumberton, NC 28360).
