She was predeceased by: her mother Mittie Caroline Smith Mincey; her brother Harry F. Mincey; and her son-in-law Gerald Walker. She is survived by: her husband James Robert Strickland; her daughters, Rose Walker of Lumberton, Dee McIntyre (Congressman Mike McIntyre) of Hillsborough and Donna Astle (Rick Astle) of Lumberton; her grandsons, Dr. Ash Walker (Desiree Walker) of Lumberton, Robert Trent Walker of Asheville, Joshua McIntyre (Sarah Hill Colwell), Stephen McIntyre (Angelica Chavis McIntyre) of Lumberton and John Astle (Hope Astle) of Mint Hill; and her great grandchildren, Riley Astle, Hamilton McIntyre, Will McIntyre and Ruth McIntyre.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc. (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Floyd Memorial Chapel (809 E 5th St, Lumberton, NC 28358).
