He was predeceased by: his parents, Jared Hall and Annie Mae Wise Merritt; his former wife Christine "Mussy"; his stepfather Wesley Merritt; his sons, Roy Hall and Johnnie Hall Jr.; and his siblings, Wilbert Hall, Albert Hall, Ruby Byrd and Bee Benson.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret Lowery Hall of St. Pauls; and his children, Debbie Hall of Lumber Bridge, Cathy Walters of Parkton, Crystal Hall of St. Pauls and Mitchell Register of St. Pauls. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
