He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur and Lucille Barnes Raper; and his siblings, Phyllis Monteith, David and Timmie Raper.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Bass Raper; his sons, Kevin Raper (Beth) of Lucama and Dwight "Whitey" Raper of Lucama; his siblings, Deborah Lawson (Bill) of Kenly, Lottie Raper of Pikeville, John Raper (Linda) of Kenly, Edward "Shorty" Raper of Goldsboro, Kenneth Raper of Pikeville and Steve Raper of Lucama; and his grandson Aaron Raper (Karli Patrick) of Lucama.
