He is survived by: his wife Wanda Lewis Brown; his daughters, Julie Szappanos (Frank) of Lucama and Jenny Combs (Derek) of Snow Hill; his granddaughter Gracelynn Szappanos; his father Tommy Brown, Sr. (Peggy) of Virginia Beach, VA; his stepfather Thomas Askew of Lucama; and his sister Dianne Whitley (James) of Elm City.
