She was predeceased by: her parents, Betty Smith and Billy Smith; her brother Bobby Smith; and her granddaughters, Sabrina and Yazmin.

She is survived by: her close friend Jakie; her children, William Smith (Beatrice) of Rocky Mount, Judy Estupinan of Lucama, Betty Estupinan-Diaz (Lorenzo) of Raleigh, Jose Hernandez (Maria) of Macclesfield and Jessica Hernandez (Francisco) of Selma; and her great grandchildren, Jovanny, Sophia and Gabriella.
