She was predeceased by: her parents, Joyce Sullivan and Luther Edwards; her stepparents, Elwood Raper and Carolyn Edwards; and her sister Tracy Raper.
She is survived by: her husband James Hamm; her son Richard Lucas of Lucama; her grandchildren, Casey Lucas of Lucama and Joshua Lucas of Benson; her siblings, Diane Raper Roberson (late Shorty) of Lucama, Pam Raper Hawley (David) of Lucama, Eddie Edwards (Janet) of Morehead City and Taffie Edwards Grady (late Scott) of Morehead City; her aunt Ruby Davis (Dale) of Morehead City; and her cousin Willie Guthrie of Morehead City. She is also survived by nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great nephews.
