It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Brenda Joyner Whitley Smoot (Lucama, North Carolina), who passed away on January 27, 2020, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Preston Carl Joyner and Lula Nichols Joyner; and her siblings, Jeri Barnes and Donnie Joyner. She is survived by: her sons, Todd Whitley (Lourdes) of Wilson and Paul Whitley of Wilson; her grandsons, Joshua Whitley (Megan Lundsford) of Wilson and Shea Whitley of Wilson; her great grandchild Caroline Whitley of Wilson; and her sister Kaye Anderson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
