He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Raper and Irene Raper; and his siblings, Carlton Raper, Margie R. Edwards, Betty Lou R. Smith and Peggy R. Peele.
He is survived by: his wife Pamela Raper; his children, Amy L. Raper and David Raper (Kim) of Cary; and his granddaughter Madison Raper of Raleigh.
