It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shelby Golding Hodges of Lowgap, North Carolina, born in Surry, Virginia, who passed away on August 7, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hobert Woltz and Zora Marie Hawks Golding. She is survived by: her husband Billy "Bill" Ray Hodges; her children, Gail Hodges and Danny Ray Hodges (Karen); her grandchildren, Amanda Bare (Jason) and Will Hodges (Casey); her pets, Mattie and Prince; her great grandchildren, Breelyn Bare, Jaylon Bare and Tyler Hodges; her sister Marie Golding Vernon (Alford); her sisters-in-law, H. W. Golding (Evelyn), Glenda Taylor, Faye Comer and Mary Snow (Gary); her stepfather Gaston Golding; and her sister Lou Branscome. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
