He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Milton and Lunda Prince Hobernicht; his daughter Marcie Parks; and his siblings, Nellie Hobernicht, Cleda Hobernicht, Ruth Hobernicht, Harold Hobernicht, Max Hobernicht, Harry Hobernicht, Robert Hobernicht and Roger Hobernicht.
He is survived by: his children, Margaret Lambert, Leslie Kriewaldt (Greg Mefford), James Daniel Hobernicht (Terri) and William "Eric" Hobernicht; and his grandchildren, Rhiannon DuBois, Rachel Robinson, Danielle Striebel, Seth Williams, Courtney Parks, Caleb Hobernicht, Meagan Parks and Connor Hobernicht. He is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Moody Funeral Services (215 W Kapp St, Dobson, NC 27017). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Gum Orchard Baptist Church (152 Poplar Springs Rd, Elkin, NC 28621). A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Zephyr Cemetery (279 Poplar Springs Rd, Elkin, NC 28621).
