He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Benson and Gracie Thomas Harless; and his wife Gabrielle Weinberger Harless. He is survived by: his daughter Martina; his son-in-law Marty Bartley; his son Maximilian Christoph; his grandchildren, Jessie Christoph, Cale Bartley, Jamie Porter and Ashley Banks; his great grandchildren, Marty Bartley, Aubrey Barton, Mark Bartley and Kallie Banks; and his sister Sharon Amos (Cathy Whitt). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
