It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Ellen Cornelius of Lowell, North Carolina, born in Gaston, North Carolina, who passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Cornelius and Georgia Huffstetler Cornelius; and her siblings, Jennings Cornelius, Joe Cornelius and Nancy McCaslin.
She is survived by: her children, Jennifer Taylor Putnam (Todd) and Lindsey Marie Cooke (Jason Amspacher); her siblings, Ray Cornelius, Tony Cornelius, Rachel Eckard and Jane Leatherman; her granddaughter Whitney Putnam Faircloth (Matt); and her great grandchildren, Houston Faircloth and Braden Faircloth. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.
