He is survived by: his sons, Linwood Hedgepeth (Lucretia) of Bailey, NC and Earl Hayes of Louisburg, NC; and his siblings, Dorothy Miles (James) of Louisburg, NC, Margaret Ann Anderson of Louisburg, NC, Joanna Hayes of Louisburg, NC, Mary Elizabeth Hayes of Louisburg, NC, Nathaniel Hayes of Louisburg, NC, Melvin Hayes of Durham, NC, Dennis Hayes of Petersburg, VA and Harold Hayes (Rhonda) of Wake Forest, NC. He is also survived by ten grandchildren.
