He was predeceased by: his parents, John Oliver Sledge Jr. and Ina Pearce Sledge; and his brother Craig Sledge. He is survived by: his wife Winnie Sledge; his daughters, Margo Sledge, Michelle Harris (Carlston) and Melanie Mitchell (William); his grandchildren, Tripp Harris, Taylor Harris, Caroline Holt and Camille Mitchell; and his brothers, Larry Sledge (Sheila) and Andy Sledge (Kim).
