He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lou Abbott Ayscue and Robert Nathaniel Ayscue; and his brother Robert N. Ayscue, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Patricia Finch Walker-Ayscue; his stepson Jake Dennis Walker; his children, Masa Ayscue Reaves (Derrill) of Epsom and Leon Thomas Ayscue (Jo Ann) of Greensboro; his grandchildren, Garrett Page Reaves and Callie Lynn Reaves; and his siblings, Peggy A. Ayscue of Hendersonville, Catherine A. Duke Harrison (Claude) of Henderson, Bessie A. Simpson (Steve) of Monroe, Michael Wayne Ayscue (Jo Ann) of Rocky Ford and Felton Ray Ayscue of Butner.
