He is survived by: his wife Shirley Brantley Wood; his children, Jean Wood of Zebulon, NC, Robin Wood of Knightdale, NC, Donna Milligan (Terry) of Lizard Lick, NC, Don Wood (Sandy) of Rockledge, FL, Dennis Wood (Brenda) of Pilot, NC, Dale Perry (Melenda) of Wendell, NC and Joey Wood (Crystal) of Wendell, NC; and his siblings, Vivian Scott, Rachel Gilberti, William Bertie "Bill" Wood and Sally Stallings. He is also survived by great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
