Betty Holmes Obituary
Mrs. Betty Robertson Holmes, 89, of Louisburg passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025. She was born to the late Johnnie Doyle and Clellie Kearney Robertson in Franklin County, NC on May 5, 1935.
In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Holmes and her brother Doyle Robertson.
Betty is survived by her children, Debbie Holmes of Youngsville, Tim Holmes (Beth) of Louisburg, and Rodney Holmes (Cheryl) of Cary; seven grandchildren, Brandy Holden Newman, Tracy Holden Privette, Blake Holmes, Emily Holmes Mangini, Brian Holmes, Sommer Holmes and Brooke Holmes; nine great-grandchildren, Austin, Alex, Sydney, Taylor, Jackson, Savannah, Luke, Benjamin and Kolt; two great-great-grandchildren, Holden and Hunter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Betty retired with over fifty years of service from Jolly, Williamson and Williamson as a legal secretary. She was married to the love of her life Clyde for 40 years until his passing in 1993. Betty loved to shop, work in the yard and spend time with her grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger. She was the life of the party and loved music and dancing. She was lovingly known by her family as the dancing queen.
The family will receive friends and visitors on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Lancaster Funeral and Cremation Services, 804 N. Bickett Blvd. Louisburg, NC 27549. Graveside service will immediately follow the visitation at Oakwood Cemetery in Louisburg.
