He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Earl Austin and Ruby Frances Austin. He is survived by: his wife Dawnna Michelle Austin of Locust, NC; his children, Tiffani Austin and Christian Austin (Alishia); his granddaughters, Hadleigh and Oaklee; and his brothers, Wayne Austin (Joy) and Kenneth Austin (Angie).

Visitation was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Greater Life Church - Locust Campus (103 Locust Ave, Locust, NC 28097). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, January 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Charlotte Memorial Gardens (7632 Hood Rd, Charlotte, NC 28215).
