He is survived by: his sons, Brian Smith (Penny) of Locust and Tony Smith (Kathy) of Locust; his grandchildren, Cody Smith (Carolyn) of Oakboro, Jerika Smith of Stanfield, Adina Green of Stanfield, Shelby Green of Stanfield and Bailey Slate (Charlie) of Stanfield; his great grandchildren, Savy Smith, Sage Smith and Callie Slate; and his sisters, Marvene Hinson of Locust, Doris Carpenter of Peachland and Diane Smith of Raleigh.
