He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Sikes and Dorothy Sikes; his wife Bonnie Sykes; and his siblings, David Sikes, Roger Sikes, Debbie Forbis and Ronald Forbis.
He is survived by: his children, Chris Sykes (Michelle) of Franklinton, Kenny Sykes of Youngsville and Melony Cordero of Waxhaw; his grandchildren, Kylie Sykes, Ty Higginbotham, Christian Sykes (Megan), Alexandra Rhyne (Greg) and Madelyn Mays (Arther); his great grandchildren, Jackson, Sophia, Ben, Hollie, Elijah and Aviela; and his sisters, Terri Blackwelder (Harvey) and Cathy Forbis (Margaret Carter).
Visitation was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Davis Chapel - Stanly Funeral and Cremation Care of Monroe (1003 E Franklin St, Monroe, NC 28112). A memorial service was held on Sunday, October 6th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
