She was predeceased by: her daughter Jimmie Lou "Penny" Green; her husband Jesse Eugene Ross, Sr.; her mother Willie Irene Rhodes; and her sister Wanda Rhodes West. She is survived by: her sons, Jesse Eugene Ross, Jr. of Albemarle and Martin Boyd Ross of Charlotte; her sister Brenda Rhodes Johnston of Troutman; her nephews, Scott Johnston, Duane Johnston, David Johnston and Michael West; her niece Michelle West Hebert; her brothers-in-law, Phillip Johnston and Melton West; and her daughter-in-law Rose Reist.
