She was predeceased by: her parents, James W. Deese and Pearl Deese (Hathcock); and her husband Spurgeon H. Porter. She is survived by: her children, Barry Porter (Anna) of Belleville and Debra Porter of Mt. Pleasant; her grandchildren, Kaycee Porter, Celia Porter and Blake Porter; and her great grandchild Parker McIlvain.
