He is survived by: his children, Joe Hines (Nannie) of Greenville, NC and Vera Atkinson (Bobby) of Indianapolis, Indiana; his siblings, William Ray Knight of Greenville, NC, Stanley Hines (Darlene) of Greenville, NC, William Highsmith of New Jersey, Dora Phillips of Greenville, NC and Alice Eason of Newark, NJ; and his nephew John "Tom" Hines (Sylvia) of Greenville, NC. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, nine great great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
