It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mark Lawrence Rosenbaum of Littleton, North Carolina, born in Plainfield, New Jersey, who passed away on April 5, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Mark Lawrence may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Bernice Youngman Salvin and Herzl Rosenbaum; his wife Segrid Ellis; his sister Helaine Medoff (Howard); his nieces, Emily Medoff and Catharine Christopherson; and his nephew Randall Robinson.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Greenwood Cemetery (110 Church Hill Rd, Macon, NC 27551). A shiva was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the Mark's (2702 Oakcrest Ave, Greensboro, NC 27408).

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UNC Blood Research Center Fund # 346102. Checks may be made out to UNC Health Foundation. 123 W. Franklin Street, Suite 510, Chapel Hill, NC, 27516.

“Mark and I met in Nursery school. Over the years we always checked on each other and hit a few high school reunions. Mark approached life with optimism, sincerity, and generosity, but not naivety. Life was a blessing. I always remember Mark, after college years, playing ragtime piano and drawing my mother, a lover of classical piano, into the lightheartedness of syncopation. Mark’s gift was his ability to entice people into seeing the world differently. I'll miss him dearly. Bob Millenky”
