He was predeceased by: his sister Nancy Twyman. He is survived by: his wife May Collier Thurber; his daughter Angela Thurber Karl (Scott); his siblings, J. W. Thurber, Deanne Thurber, William Thurber, Linda Mattox, Brenda Thurber and Janice Parris; and his granddaughter Teagan Grace Karl.
