He is survived by: his brothers, Dennis Griffith of Murfreesboro and Bobby Griffith of Murfreesboro; his children, Richard "Ric" William Griffith of Weldon and Victoria Lynn Griffith Moore; his stepchildren, Charles "Chuck" Phillip Armstrong (Wendy) of Holly Springs, Robert Lee Armstrong, Jr. of Halifax and Connie Moss (Roy) of Emporia, VA; his grandchildren, Gregory Adam Byers (Kelly), William Coleman Smith, Charles Lee Smith, Chelsea Anne Armstrong, Allison Mya Armstrong and Chloe Mae Armstrong; his great grandchildren, Michaela Elizabeth Armstrong, Christa Nicole Spruill, Jenna Louise Armstrong, McKenna Grace Simpson and Brenna Jae Armstrong; his close friends, Charla Lyons and Carrie Deese; and his nephew Tim Vann (Betty) of Murfreesboro, NC..
A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 10th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Askew Funeral and Cremation Services (731 Roanoke Ave, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the John 3:16 Center in Littleton and Roanoke Rapids.
