He was predeceased by: his daughter Crystal Repko. He is survived by: his wife Irma Fleming Gard; his son David F. Gard (Jenny) of Virginia Beach; his sisters, Arlene Basnight and Myra Twiddy; and his stepchildren, Randy Vaughan, Catherine Vaughan and Ray Burnette. He is also survived by five step grandchildren.
