He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Ray Buie and Esther Mae Fleming Buie; and his siblings, Bill Buie, Donald Buie, Henry Lee Buie, Dorothy Money and Nell Vanhoy.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Ann Young Buie; his daughters, Michelle Henrickson (Scott) of Lexington and Melissa Swink (Scott) of Lexington; his sister Bonnie Byerly of Churchland; and his grandchildren, Samuel Swink, Katie Swink, Kayla Henrickson and Kara Henrickson.
