With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mechele Holdaway of Linwood, North Carolina, born in Durham, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 22, 2025 at the age of 53. In the vast expanse of eternity, Mechele shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Mechele farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Linda Cantrell and Terry Cantrell; and her siblings, Terry Lee Cantrell and Tami Shanahan. She is survived by: her husband Charles Perry Holdaway; her children, Velia Sue Williams, Arlen Ray Sparks, Jr. of Lexington, Matthew Dale Sparks of Lexington and Jesse Neil Butler of Lexington; and her stepdaughter Bethany Lamb of Thomasville. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
