She was predeceased by: her parents, Claude Pittman and Eula Clark Pittman; her husband James Frank Hughes, Sr.; her brother Charles Pittman; and her grandson David Lee Hughes.
She is survived by: her children, Kaye Hughes (Fred) of Linville, NC, Sharon "Shad" Peters of Linville, NC and James F. Hughes, Jr. (Michelle) of Linville, NC; her sisters, Jeanne Jennings of Banner Elk, NC and Patsy Woodcock (John) of Black Mountain, NC; her grandchildren, Sanford Hughes Greene, Hannah Greene, Lindsey Kissell (Robert), Charlie Peters (Summer), Lauren Cox (Shane) and James F. "Trey" Hughes, III; her great grandchildren, Ayla Greene, Gavin Peters, Finch Coffman, Michael Peters, Levi Kissell and Bella Blake Kissell; and her sister-in-law Linda Pittman. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
