She is survived by: her mother Jean Norwood Anderson of Raleigh; her significant other Richard Thurston Holderness; her children, Hilary McRee Ferrel (JJ) of Greensboro, Anne Vance Avera (Hugh) of Raleigh, Julie Holderness Shaw (Gavin) of Raleigh, Richard Thurston Holderness, Jr. (Aijan) of Greensboro, Howard Austen Holderness (Chloe) of Washington, DC and Frank Anderson Holderness of Brooklyn; her grandchildren, Aipara, Addie, Eric Holderness, Amelia, Frances Holderness, Fuller, Penn Carr, Oliver, Jeanie, Rorie Avera, Lucy, Adelaide and Georgina Shaw; her great grandchild Rylee Carr; and her siblings, Carol Cooper Thornhill (George) and George Norwood Anderson (Katherine) of Raleigh. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
