He was predeceased by: his wife Margaret; his parents, Joseph and Margaret; his granddaughter Joy Allison Brinster; his daughter-in-law Patricia Brinster; his stepfather Ignatz Schneider; his brother Michael Brinster; his half-siblings, Leo Schneider, Ned Schneider and Cecelia Bartsch; and his stepbrother Ben Schneider.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Lou Tandeski (Cleatus) of Devils Lake, Marjorie Hoff (Walt), Joseph Brinster (Sherry) of Linville and Jerome Brinster (Betty) of Omaha. He is also survived by grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
