It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Avery Cooke (Linville, North Carolina), who passed away on November 27, 2019, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Cooke and Delana Cooke of Linville; his wife Martha Cooke; his siblings, Bob Cooke, Lee Cooke, Lillian Ellis and Martha Kincaid; and his son-in-law Jay Luttrell.
He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Luttrell and Laura Padgett (Donald); his grandchildren, Madison Hollar (Wesley) and Coston Padgett (Abby); and his siblings, David Cooke (Ramona), Janice Payne, Mamie Luther (Tony), Linda Pittman and Peggy Sherwood.
