He was predeceased by: his father John Ray Jackson; his daughter Christy Jackson; his stepfather Jessie West; and his siblings, Terry West, Bobby Jackson, Jessie James West, Brenda Jackson and Margie West.

He is survived by: his children, John Robert Jackson (Erica) of Clearwater, FL and Eliza Marie Jackson of Goldsboro, NC; and his siblings, Barbara Delarosa of Linden, NC and Billy Jackson of Linden, NC. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
