He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifton Matthews and Ivey Matthews; his siblings, Brenda Jones and J. C. Matthews; and his nephew B. J. Jones.
He is survived by: his wife Kim Matthews; his daughters, Michelle Beasley of Buies Creek and Nicki (Steve) of Linden; and his siblings, Roy Lee Matthews (Brenda) and Carolyn Martin (Cameron). He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Community Center (9447 Market St, Linden, NC 28356).
