She was predeceased by: her parents, Ander Boahn and Lily Mae Sesoms Boahn; her husband Clayton Gainey; her son James Oliver Gainey; her grandchildren, Marie Corbin and Matthew Jonathan Gainey; and her siblings, Jessie, Leonard Boahn and Edna Gainey.

She is survived by: her son Eugene Gainey. She is also survived by Several Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild.
